ParkPilot shows live occupancy for a curated set of lots and points you to the nearest free space. Open-source, no API keys required.
Runs in your browser. Optionally uses your real location; otherwise pick a preset (Tukwila, Bellevue, Seattle Waterfront) or enter custom coordinates.
What it does
Simulated live occupancy
Each space shows free or occupied. State is computed deterministically and changes per minute — fine for a demo, not real CV.
Direct-line guidance
Pick a free space and get its bearing and distance from your location. The map flies to it. Not turn-by-turn navigation.
Map + polygons
OpenStreetMap tiles (no key required). Lot outlines and space rectangles are drawn as polygons, color-coded by occupancy.
How it works
- Set your location. Use browser geolocation, or pick a simulated preset, or type lat/lng.
- Browse nearby lots. The server returns lots within 3 km (configurable), sorted by distance.
- Find a free space. The server picks the nearest free space in your selected lot and returns bearing + distance.
- Drive there. The map draws an arrow and the distance readout updates as you "move" (in the simulator).
Honest limits
- Occupancy is simulated for the demo. Replace with a computer-vision pipeline or vendor feed for production.
- Guidance is direct-line bearing, not turn-by-turn navigation. Don't drive from this app alone.
- Two demo lots (Tukwila Southcenter, Bellevue Square). Real lot ingestion is a separate workstream.
- macOS build is unsigned for the local build. Do not distribute unsigned binaries.
